Study: Clinical trial participants say sharing health data is beneficial

Eighty-one percent and more than 85% of 771 surveyed clinical trial participants reported that data sharing would benefit physicians and scientists, respectively, according to a study in The New England Journal of Medicine. Less than 10% of respondents reported being “very" concerned about the possible consequences of data sharing, while less than a third expressed being “very" or “somewhat" concerned about the potential risks, including the possibility of their information being hacked or used for poor-quality research.
