Clinical Trials and Large-Scale Epidemiologic Studies

Many departments and divisions in the University of Washington have a long history of major accomplishments in clinical research, clinical trials, and all aspects of translational research. As reflections of this, Diabetes Research Center affiliate investigators participate in most of the major clinical trials in diabetes in the United States, with many of them holding leadership positions in these studies. In addition, there is active research on the epidemiology of diabetes being conducted by investigators in Seattle. Affiliate investigators are actively involved in these clinical studies and interact with Diabetes Research Center cores for their research.
