Topic: "Recapturing Urban Space"

Urban space in many cities are becoming a place for people to pass through, rather than a place to stop and form a community. Large corporations and businesses are taking over and allowing less opportunity for people to inhabit their own space. This topic is aimed to think about the meaning of community.

The idea behind the topic: "Recapturing Urban Space" is to think about "bringing back the urban space from the corporate sectors (i.e. starbucks, microsoft, etc.) and to create our community".

The 18 participants who gathered for this workshop came from various diverse background, skills and interests and an immediate response to this was to form groups with mixed individuals. The workshop was divided into 5 groups and each group was to present their theme within the 150x150 pixel box on the webpage. Each box is unique and interactive in its own way and the five boxes altogether forms an active environment as a whole.
