First established in 1978, the Program's medical staff includes two full-time perinatalogists with specialized skills in obstetric management of the complicated diabetic pregnancy, including obstetric ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and fetal intervention. 

Our Mission:
To provide all diabetic women with the highest quality medical and obstetrical care available.

Who should be referred for care?

• Any pregnant woman with diabetes

• Pre-conception counselling of the woman with diabetes desiring pregnancy
• Intensive multi-disciplinary team management of both diabetes and obstetrical care during the pregnancy
• Management of blood sugar control with standard insulin therapy, continuous infusion insulin pump and oral hypoglycemic drugs
• Intensive nutritional and diabetes education for the pregnant woman
• Social services counselling
