The Dennis Lang Award is a merit-based monetary award (up to $500) for undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Washington who demonstrate promise in the field of Disability Studies. To apply, students must submit an application by May 7. Applications should be submitted online at https://catalyst.uw.edu/collectit/dropbox/sgoering/21657 . More >The Disability Studies Program is pleased to announce that there will be funds from the Harla Hahn endowment available to University of Washington community. Students, faculty and staff from all three University of Washington campuses are invited to submit a proposal for one of the two types of awards available as described below. All proposals are due midnight May 6th, 2012. The Harlan Hahn Awards Selection Committee will make the decision on the final recipients who will be notified by May 15, 2012.

The number and amount of the awards will depend on the quality and quantity of applications up to $4,000 per award. It is anticipated that the awards will range between $500 – 4,000; the specific amount awarded will be dependent on the individual proposals.

Disability expert Sue Kroeger to visit, speak Oct.25, 26 Nationally recognized disability expert and scholar Sue Kroeger will visit the UW Oct. 25 and 26 to advise the University on best practices for addressing disability.

An article in University Week by Nancy Wick highlights Jurg Koch's Integrated Dance Summer Intensive. "Twenty-two dancers converged on the UW Aug. 9-14, five of them in wheelchairs....the aim was to share processes whereby dance can be made more accessible to those with disabilities.
The Women Studies Department has generously lent the use of Padelford B-110-C as an office space for the DS Program. Thank you Women Studies!
