An overview of the interface and its use:
The lower left window contains either a full or partial panoramic picture. By holding down your mouse button inside the picture and moving it up, down, left or right the picture will spin accordingly. Not all images will move in all directions.
Within each image there are "hot spots," or areas that, once clicked on with the mouse, will lead you to another image or supportive text. A bulge in the image identifies hot spots once the mouse cursor is moved over it. These will not show up if the mouse button is already depressed. Therefore, you should move the image until you find an area that interests you and then release the mouse button and search for hot spots.
The lower right window is a floor plan of Hagia Sophia. The green icons represent where you can go within the mosque to get more information. The red icons represent where you currently are and what direction you are looking towards. You can get to any of the areas you are interested in by clicking on the icon within the map with your mouse. Look to the lower status bar within the browser window for a description of where the link will take you.
The upper window is the supportive text associated with the image you are currently viewing.
