War on the Docks: Puget Sound’s Longshoremen in the 1934 Strike
During the Depression, working conditions on the docks continued to worsen and the ILA again attempted to organize longshoremen.
The West Coast ILA, however, had learned valuable lessons from the failed 1916 strike.  This time, they would not let employers divide them.  This time ILA locals all along the coast would fight together.
