War on the Docks: Puget Sound’s Longshoremen in the 1934 Strike
In late June, Seattle’s employers again attempted to recruit scabs near the Alaska Building in downtown Seattle, and the longshoremen again responded.
For three days, longshoremen fought these employer efforts, often battling scabs in fist fights.  The strikers were successful and Seattle’s port owners abandoned their attempts to use scab labor.
