he MAMC and UWMC Affiliated Residency in Emergency Medicine is a comprehensive
three year program with four positions for civilians at the PGY 1,2 and
3 level. There are a total of 36 residency positions, 12 per year, of
which 4 per year are civilians selected by the University of Washington
and the remaining 8 positions are selected through the military.
Resident responsibility is progressive and supervised. Education is supported
by a highly trained and experienced faculty as well as a well-staffed
and equipped hospital system. Residents receive high quality training
through rotations in three core facilities and five affiliated institutions.
Daily conferences, weekly grand rounds, monthly research conferences,
quality improvement, a journal club, and procedure conferences contribute
to quality professional collaboration between faculty and residents, helping
to maximize learning opportunities and provide quality inpatient care.
