Morning

Campers watched the video Building the Team.

Sheryl emphasized that the three most important individuals/organizations regarding college success: 1. you, 2. your professor, and 3. disability student services.

Sheryl interviewed Dr. Dave Burgstahler from the University of Washington about life as a professor. The campers, one at a time, completed a role playing exercise with him, pretending to be in his class and requesting an accommodation.

Campers discussed electronic distribution lists (like courage2003@topica.com), and were told how to join doitpals by sending a message to doit@u.washington.edu and asking to join the doitpals list.

Campers also explored lists at Disability-Related Resources on the Internet, http://www.washington.edu/doit/Brochures/DRR/ for disability-related resources, and http://lists.topica.com/ for lots of lists by topic area.

Afternoon

Mamoru tried to use iChat to connect to Seattle DO-IT Center.
Technical difficulties - the real world with technology!

Campers filled out action plan worksheets with help from staff.

Campers had fun at the What's in Your Name? website at http://www.kabalarians.com/cfm/your.cfm.

Campers sent a message to courage2003@topica.com about today's activities.

Campers and staff had a group picture taken.
