Camp Courage Journal

8:30 am Breakfast followed by open computer lab

9:30 am - 12:20
We spent the morning videotaping and video editing with Alissa and Samson.

Today we pretended to meet a professor and introduce ourselves and ask him for an accommodations. This was practice for doing this in college. Our parents won’t be there to help us like they do in high school. We have to work with the professor that the disabled student services counselors to get what we need.

12:30 Lunch

1:00 – 2:00
We watched Sheryl do a Webcast. She and the person she presented with (who was connected by phone from Southern Maine), talked to an audience all over the country about how science labs can be made accessible to students with all kinds of disabilities.

2:10 – 2:50, Tracy Benson and Sampson Meyer, both past campers, talked about how they got ready for college, got into a school, and live in an apartment and group home, respectively. We asked questions.

3 - 5:00 pm Some of us chose camp activities and some stayed in the open computer lab. with Samson.
