Information Technology
The Dean of Medicine Information Technology unit (DoM IT) supports a computing environment for approximately 300 faculty and staff in the Dean's office. This includes secure access to file and print services, desktop computing support, and technical infrastructure engineering and maintenance.

Additionally, DoM IT develops, configures, and supports administrative software applications that are used throughout the School of Medicine. This includes web-based systems that:
  • Process 5,000 applications a year, manage the interview and selection process, and create student records for the approximately 160 medical students who will be admitted to the UW School of Medicine each year.
  • Host a student database of grades, clerkships, and other academic affairs that allow faculty and staff to track progress and trends.
  • Record faculty human resource information such as titles, tenure status, degrees, and salaries, including features for complying with regulatory and other reporting needs.
  • Provide graduate medical education management, physician credentialing, and other administrative applications.
