Training Program in Public Health and Behavioral Research in Dentistry

PROGRAM FACULTY

The faculty associated with the Public Health and Behavioral Research training program are listed in Table 2, along with their departmental affiliations, research interests, and components of the program in which they participate.

Besides the faculty listed in Table 2, it should be understood that any trainee in the Public Health and Behavioral Research training program who is a Master’s or Ph.D. candidate in one of the collaborating departments can select as his/her thesis or dissertation advisor any of the graduate faculty members of that department.  Thus, trainees have access to an enormous number of faculty who are not listed as program faculty in Table 2.

Among the faculty participating in the long term training program who have appointments in the School of Dentistry, most also have appointments and active roles in one of the four collaborating departments. The faculty affiliated with the long term training program in Table 2 who are not appointed in the School of Dentistry demonstrate the level of cooperation that exists in the collaborating non-dental departments with this program.  This bridging is further demonstrated in Figure 3, which shows areas of faculty appointments and/or graduate or postgraduate training for the program faculty.

Future training opportunities for trainees in this program are best indicated by the extensive list of funded or pending research grants for program faculty provided in Table 3.
