The Diabetes Research Group
The Diabetes Research Group is a group of investigators based at the University of Washington and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System who are working to better understand why people get type 2 diabetes and other diseases related to obesity.
Currently we are conducting several research studies and need volunteers. Our current studies are:
- Insulin Resistance in Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
- Effects of Iron Overload (Hemochromatosis) on Insulin Sensitivity and Glucose Metabolism
- Effects of Glucose Infusion on Glucose Metabolism in Impaired Glucose Tolerance
- Effect of Dietary Glycemic Index on Beta-cell Function
- Effect of Anti-oxidants on Beta-cell Function in Humans
