12/22/00 Extensive information on Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) and recommendations for the use of vaccines manufacturered with bovine-derived materials can be found at the FDA and CDC websites.

12/27/00 Visit CDC's influenza vaccine availability website for updates on obtaining vaccine.

 

 

The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) is a comprehensive source for childhood, adolescent, and adult immunization information and hepatitis B educational materials. This website has developed two new resource pages for vaccine information: CDC Resources You Should Know About (lists numerous CDC sources for vaccine-related information) and Vaccine Safety (includes links to numerous publications and websites that provide recent and reliable information on this important topic). Vaccinate Adults! (published by the IAC) is an immunization and hepatitis B publication for adult medicine specialists.

The Vaccine Page: this web site provides links to vaccine organizations and the latest vaccine news stories.

National Immunization Program: CDC's National Immunization Program web site.

The Vaccine Initiative: web site for the Vaccine Initiative Program of the Infectious Disease Society of America.

Vaccines and Foreign Travel: Geographical Travel Map: The CDC's Travel Information web site provides country-specific vaccine requirements and health information for international travelers.

The National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has developed a website devoted to vaccine research information. This website contains links to various fact sheets, brochures, amd special recommendations and reports.

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) has launched a website to serve as a nationwide mechanism by which adverse events can be reported, analyzed, and made available to the public. A printable VAERS form is available on this site. In upcoming months, online vaccine adverse events (VAE) reporting will be added. Of special interest to providers is a Vaccine Safety Bibliography which is generated monthly from the National Library of Medicine's SDILINE.

The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists' website offers immunization information for seniors.
