About the Drumline

Welcome to the University of Washington Drumline web site. Please have a look around the site, read up on the members and instructors, and check out some pictures and tunes. The main website for The Husky Marching Band is www.huskymarchingband.com. If you are considering auditioning for the drumline please bookmark these two sites and check them regularly for important updates.

The UW Drumline is comprised of four sections. Snares, Tenors (quints), Bass Drums and Cymbals. Depending on the return rate from the previous year and how many people audition for the line we field between seven and ten snares, four or five tenors, six bass drums and between seven and ten cymbals. The Husky Marching Band does not field a pit. If you are interested in mallet or concert percussion please consider looking into the other fine ensembles offered at the UW. www.music.washington.edu/ensembles/

The Husky Marching Band performs on the field and in the stands at every home Husky Football game, as well as several other pre and post game performances. The entire band travels to two away football games and a portion of the band usually travels to all other away games. We have a busy fall! The band also performs at many local and regional public, corporate and private events. In addition to these performances the drumline also holds several clinics throughout the year both on and off campus. Our biggest clinic of the year, The Day of Marching Percussion, is held every year on a Saturday in August and, for the drumline, serves as a wrap-up to our week long audition/rehearsal camp. Information regarding this clinic can be found on our homepage.

The Husky Drumline is proud and privileged to play on the very finest instruments. We are extremely fortunate to have forged wonderful relationships with the following corporations: Pearl, Zildjian, Vic Firth, and Remo.

Thank you for visiting our site and Go Huskies!
