Project RTI is funded by a grant from the Office of Special Education Programs in the U.S. Department of Education to revise and restructure the UWT dual track (general and special education) teacher certification program. Principal investigators are Marcy Stein, PhD and Diane Kinder, PhD, University of Washington Tacoma.
The Project will prepare teachers to work in schools that are implementing an RTI model of service delivery to meet the needs of culturally, linguistically, economically and academically diverse students.
Assisting with restructuring efforts are Tom Bellamy, Director of the Goodlad Institute for Education Renewal, and Leslie Pyper, Learning Improvement Coordinator for special education at OSPI and Director of the State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG) focused on RTI.
