SUCCESSION- Matt Davis
An animated short produced in FLASH CS3 for HUM 203, Spring 2007.
My cartoon is a stylized and at times absurd way of looking at how motion has been understood at specific points in history, while using the ball as a means of linking the points into a continuity. The animation is a combination of my own artwork and stock photography of historical characters and items: Galileo and Muybridge, and various artifacts from the history of the development of the camera. It is intended to impart that animation, history, and motion are all a succession of points in space-time, showing progression as the concatenation of stills.
