Success of Sam
The story of Sam investigates the topic of closure, assumption, and human aspiration. The protagonist “Sam” has good faith in achieving his life’s goals, however he fails due to the lack of preparation for different situations. In this animation, I intend to demonstrate closure by twisting the finale of a story. The human nature subconsciously perceives a happy ending for what may or may not be. This work challenges the idealists without a bacup plan. The plot starts Sam’s life in high school, being a star soccer player in the state area and Ivy League university scholarship winner prospect. He has high expectations of playing soccer in college and eventually winning the gold medal in the Olympics. This may seem like impossible dreams for some but for a person with Sam’s talent and apabilities, it was inevitable. In the end, the leading role fails to get into college and ends up in jail for stealing electronics out of the place of his employment, Best Buy. We need to constantly have a backup plan when life takes an unexpected turn, which it will. At the end, there will be a messenger asking the audience if they ahd expected this ending. If the answer is no, their minds had already created a “desired” closure that is different from the “true” closure.
