Assignment 1

Assignment 2

Final project

At first, I intended on doing a stop motion animation with the same story: two ninjas engaging in an epic battle for a dog. I then changed my mind the first day of animating because I figured that would take way longer then I had time for, so I decided to just animate the story instead. I almost did not make the deadline for this idea, but that is because I was trying to make the frames move as smooth as possible. To do this, I tweened each key frame to about 15-20 frames, but then the computer would not let me even save to the desktop, so I had to go and cut a couple frames, and then I got it done. I created this piece because I like to put a little humor into projects I do. The humor is that you would not suspect two ninjas to be fighting over a dog. I feel that this piece is important because it shows that even simple animations can be entertaining (or at least I think so). I see other people using FLASH for their projects, while some of us used simple Photoshop to accomplish this. The simplicity comes from what I used and how I did it. I used the skills taught in the lab on using Photoshop for making an animation, and went at it. The animation is an almost even ratio of free-form drawing using the paintbrush tool mainly, and the shape tool for bodies, ground, etc. My main focus starting this was to create all of the frames first, upload the file into the Moviemaker, then work out the timing of the frames from there, which took longer than I though. The result of this time-consuming process is what you see. I hope you enjoyed it!
