The point of my animation is to show that time isn’t always what it may seem to be. We are constantly using time in our daily lives, so we usually don’t consider it to be too complicated, unless you really think about how it affects our lives. The first scene of my animation displays a clock and a calendar that shows that it is 2:30 some day in June 2007. You then see 200 years passing before your eyes when the alien lands and the houses change. At the end you see the clock again, which shows that it is 2:35 some day in June 2007. Finally you see a man sleeping and he is dreaming about the alien, which shows that it was all a dream and only 5 minutes have really passed.
When creating my animation I used Photoshop, since this was my first time ever creating an animation. I used the techniques for manual tweening that we discussed in class in order to make my alien walk. I also had to do this for when I made the hand on the clock rotate around. In my animation, you will see some objects that have a more 3-dimensional feel as well as 2-dimensional. I did this in order to make it more interesting and not completely uniform. I want the viewer to be entertained as well as understand the point that I am trying to get across.
