As ubiquitous and universal as time is, animation provides one with the capacity of capturing and molding the fourth dimension to their liking. I took this opportunity to play with the idea of time represented as an object. It interacts with people and other abstract creations within the frame but nothing moves without time first touching it. Movement must ask permission. It was important to me to play with the idea of time in my animation, rather than a different concept, because this medium allows for this. Where else, except in animation or film may one manipulate to the highest degree the sequence of events? Such a unique prospect led me to use Adobe Photoshop to construct a running series of frames relating to the path of a bouncing ball. The animation closes with a commentary on how time has seen the world in the past, present, and (hopefully incorrect) future by having the ball bounce up the evolutionary chain. At the end, nuclear war blows time back to start, a clean slate.
