Final project

“Arthur and his good deed” is an animation made to depict a children’s book quality of a story. It allows the viewer to see the world from Arthur, the friendly neighborhood bird’s point of view. He has the mentality of being a naturally free object and thinks everything else should be like he is, free. I made this animation to show a view point from an individual mind set, going against what is considered “normal” in our society.

This idea originally came to me when listening to a story on the radio about a few high school students purchasing $3000 dollars worth of lobster all because they wanted to set the lobster free. Even though the students knew the lobster would soon be caught and sold to lobster consumers, they freed the lobster anyways all for the purpose of an objects freedom. This motivated me to consider Arthur initiating “the will to power” and setting balloons free.
