2007 NCTA 30-Hour Seminars on
East Asia
Are you interested in
teaching about East Asia, but are not sure where to start? Then
consider signing up for one of the 2007
NCTA 30-Hour Seminars on East Asia!
Taught by experienced educators, these seminars provide you with
essential background information on China, Japan, and Korea. For
completing one of the seminars and follow-up sessions, you will
receive course books, curriculum materials, clock hours (WA only) or
college credit (for a fee), and a stipend, plus you become eligible
for NCTA study tours and initiative grants! To register, please
check back in November for a downloadable application.
EARC Goes to China in 2007
In 2007, educators have two opportunities to visit China with the
EARC. Pacific Northwest alumni of the 30-hour NCTA seminars from
1999–2006 are eligible to apply for NCTA in China. Educators
from across the country can apply for the China Teacher Leadership
Project study tour. For deadlines and application
information, please visit our
Study
Tours page.
Digital EARC
As the world of education increasingly goes digital, the EARC is
offering more ways for you to access our resources online. You can
now get news and announcements emailed directly to you with our two
new listservs:
•NW-NCTA:
Up-to-date announcements about
Northwest NCTA alumni events and
activities.
•EARCBytes:
Your source for news and announcements
about upcoming EARC programs and events.
Many educators subscribe to the EARC's quarterly newsletter, East
Asia for Educators. Did you know that you can also read the most
recent edition of the newsletter online, as well as
back-issues archived through Winter 2002? To read the web edition of
East Asia for Educators, check out our
