On February 15th, 2011 Vice President for the Office of Minority Affairs Sheila Edwards Lange hosted a community forum to respond to stakeholders, concerns about the impending construction project and the preservation of the murals within the Ethnic Cultural Center. VP Edwards Lange provided stakeholders the history of the project and discussed the options for how the murals might be preserved.

I support the initial proposal of capturing the images digitally and use them in the new building. I think the cost and constraints(asbestos) to save or preserve the existing murals is money that could be better spent to help the students directly.
