There is no federal or state law that prohibits undocumented students\u2019 admissions to public or private universities in the State of Washington. All prospective students will be reviewed under the same admissions criteria regardless of status.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students who are interested in applying must take the following steps towards applying.\u00a0Please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/admissions\/undocumented\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Undocumented Student Resources page<\/a> for more information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"uw-btn\" href=\"http:\/\/admit.washington.edu\/apply\/freshman\/how-to-apply\">How to Apply<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #4b2e83;\">Financial Aid &amp; Scholarships<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The undocumented status of a student exempts them from applying for federal student aid using the FAFSA, but this does not have to be a barrier to attending and succeeding in college. Below are resources that will support undocumented students in Washington state to attain and fund their higher education. Please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/admissions\/undocumented\/financial-aid-for-undocumented-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Financial Aid for Undocumented Students page<\/a> for more information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"accordion \" id=\"accordion\">\n<div class=\"screen-reader-text\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<div class=\"card-header\" id=\"accordion-header\">\n<h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn btn-link\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse\"><span class=\"btn-text\">1. WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid)<\/span><span class=\"arrow-box\"><span class=\"arrow\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapse\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\" role=\"region\">\n<p>While undocumented students do not qualify for student aid from the federal government, Washington\u2019s Real Hope Act has expanded eligibility for the Washington State Need Grant to eligible undocumented students who meet the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wsac.wa.gov\/WASFAelig\">program\u2019s eligibility requirements<\/a>\u00a0and the following residency criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have graduated from a Washington high school or obtained a GED\u00ae.<\/li>\n<li>Have lived in Washington for three years prior to, and continuously since, earning the high school diploma or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Sign an affidavit (written promise) to file an application to become a permanent resident of the United States when eligible to apply. *<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u00a0*Students granted deferred action for childhood arrival (DACA) must also complete and sign the affidavit.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">If you are eligible, you can complete the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.readysetgrad.org\/wasfa\"> WASFA application<\/a> to be considered for State Need Grant.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<div class=\"card-header\" id=\"accordion-header\">\n<h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn btn-link\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse\"><span class=\"btn-text\">2. SB 5874<\/span><span class=\"arrow-box\"><span class=\"arrow\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapse\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\" role=\"region\">\n<p>SB 5874 (replaced HB 1079), signed on June 9th, 2022, allows undocumented students to pay in-state tuition at Washington state colleges and universities. Students must have maintained a primary residency in Washington state for at least 12 months prior to the first term at the school and must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition to conducting your own research, we\u00a0recommend\u00a0learning more about the following scholarships:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/collegesuccessfoundation.org\/wa\/supports-and-scholarships\/scholarships\/leadership-1000\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CSF Leadership 1000 <\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/waef.org\/scholarships\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Washington Apple Education Foundation <\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seamar.org\/scholarships.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sea Mar Scholarships<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldendoorscholars.org\/future-scholars\">Golden Door Scholars<\/a> &#8211; National Scholarship for Undocumented\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While most of our students attend Golden Door partner schools, we support students at other accredited four year institutions on a case-by-case basis.
