About the Campaign<\/h2>\n

The purpose of #REPRESENT is to bring awareness to representation. Throughout this campaign, we discussed why it\u2019s important to have representation in all systems and the repercussions of not having representation,<\/p>\n

We hoped to engage the student community through our Instagram stories. We wanted to REPRESENT their voices and experiences in this campaign!<\/p>\n

Each week of the campaign, we focused on a different topic.<\/p>\n

Why Sesame Street Theme?<\/h2>\n

Sesame Street has been around for a while and is a show that students have some childhood connection to. It is a great show that has covered and challenged a wide range of social topics and has introduced many characters of different identities. We felt that because Sesame Street has paved a way for representation on children\u2019s television, it would be a fitting theme for our #REPRESENT campaign.<\/p>\n
