Mold: The Next Asbestos?—March 11, 2003, Seattle.
This course reviews issues on mold toxicology and health risks, specifics on conducting site investigations, and strategies to prevent and remediate exposure. Cost: $205.

Puget Sound Occupational and Environmental Medicine Grand Rounds: Use of Ergonomics Interventions in the Treatment of Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders—March 20, 2003, Seattle.
Speaker: Bradley Evanoff, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief, Division of General Medicine Sciences, Washington University School of Medicine. Schedule: 6:00-8:30 pm. Registration: $40 (includes dinner and lecture).

Clear Writing for Safety and Health Professionals, March 25-26, 2003, Seattle - class almost full!
Working in small groups, participants will gain experience in writing and editing polished e-mails, memos, and reports, for a variety of audiences. Cost: $295 on or before March 4, 2003; $345 after.

Risk Communication: Going Beyond "Right to Know" to "Right to Understand"—April 3, 2003, Seattle.
Effective and accurate risk communication is vital to health care, occupational health, public health, and the media. This course will discuss appropriate use of risk information and how to overcome the challenges with communicating various types of risk information to diverse audiences. Cost: $175 on or before March 13, 2003; $205 after.

Assessing Ergonomic Hazards in the Workplace—April 23, 2003.
Experts will address Washington State’s ergonomics standard and the methods used to identify and prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders in a variety of work environments, including offices, construction, lifting, material handling, and manufacturing. Participants will have the opportunity to apply these tools in hands-on sessions. Cost: $175 on or before April 7, 2003; $205 after.

OSHA University at Sea—Alaska Cruise: OSHA 500 (Trainer Course for the Construction Industry), May 31-June 7, 2003.
Become an OSHA-authorized outreach trainer, while cruising the Inside Passage aboard the Princess Cruise Line's beautiful Star Princess.
