Safety and Health Specialist Certificate Program

  • The University of Washington Safety and Health Certificate Program responds to industry requests for a formal safety and health program for individuals who may not have the resources to complete a college degree in occupational health and safety.

  • The program provides a solid grounding in the basics of OSHA regulatory compliance requirements and other complex occupational safety and health issues.

  • The program has been designed by seasoned safety and health professionals and includes training in key areas.

  • Continual changes in the workforce and the needs of working professionals have made the certificate program a valuable tool for professional development. Core courses give a strong foundation in the fundamentals of occupational safety and health. Elective courses enable students to focus on the specialized needs of their workplace.

  • Certificates provide documentation for current and potential employers.

  • Companies that employ graduates of the program gain safety specialists who can save them money through fewer lost-time injuries, fewer fines and citations, and cost-effective responses to regulatory requirements.

  • Please remember that you must apply for a certificate program by completing and submitting the certificate application.
