Environmental Health Minor The Environmental Health minor is open to all UW undergraduates who have completed general and organic chemistry (CHEM 142, 152, 162, 237, 238, and 239). Students who complete the "short" organic chemistry series are also welcome to declare the minor (CHEM 223 and 224). The minor is designed to help students understand the basic influences and impact of various environmental factors on human health. This minor is especially appropriate for students majoring in the sciences. Students planning to pursue the environmental health minor should check the prerequisites for the desired elective courses. While many potential elective courses have no prerequisites, some courses require some combination of the following prerequisites: BIOL 180, 200, 220; MATH 124; PHYS 114, 115, 116 (or 121, 122, 123); ENV H 482; MICROM 301. The minor requires completion of at least 29 credit hours including 14 credits of the following Required Core Courses, and at least 15 credits selected from the below Approved Elective Courses. Approved Elective Courses (Minimum 15 credits)
Students may also propose non-ENV H courses to satisfy the EH minor elective requirement. These courses must be approved by the Undergraduate Program Manager. You can email the Program Manager at ehug@u.washington.edu. |
