invitation card

In 1947, a group of five University of Washington undergraduate students began coursework in a new major called "sanitary science". Over the past 60 years, the department now known as Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences has provided excellence in environmental health research, education, and training. Please help us continue this important work into the future.

Join us for appetizers, drinks (your first one is on us), and conversation with faculty (current and former), classmates, staff, and friends of the department. The evening features photos from the early years and a brief talk on where the department is headed. Please RSVP below by February 28, 2008.

I would like to attend the 60th Anniversary Celebration

I am unable to attend, but would like to donate to the Jack Hatlen Scholarship Fund

In addition to being a celebration, this event is a fundraiser for the Jack Hatlen Scholarship Fund. The Jack Hatlen Scholarship Fund offers scholarships to outstanding undergraduates in the Environmental Health major each academic year. The scholarship honors Jack Hatlen, longtime faculty member who graduated with the first class. He taught in the department from 1952 until 1997 and he continues to work with the department as an Associate Professor Emeritus.

You can donate to this fund securely online or by sending a check payable to UW Foundation to:
