Kristin:
Kristin, a graduate student at the University of Washington,
uses high tech sometimes and low tech other times. Only she herself
can weight the advantages and disadvantages of each method for each
circumstance.

Adrienne masterfully negotiates all
the communication options she has to match the situation and the partners.
In her bilingual home, she relies primarily on speech, but it is supplemented
by partner assisted scanning with the alphabet. When she is speaking
to less familiar people, she uses her communication device.
