"Keeping in Touch"
Stan has ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Stan enjoys spending
time with friends and family. His hobbies include computers, technology,
history, geography, the outdoors, and music. Stan has trouble controlling
his hands and arms. He uses special computer software to help him with
his hobbies. He has also changed some of his hobbies to suit his needs.
Stan uses this technology:
- ViaVoice from IBM
to run his computer using his voice
- Sicare Light from
TASH to use his voice to control his TV, VCR, CD player, tape
recorder, telephone
- email to stay in contact with friends and family who are far away
