Music has been a passion for Snoopi for the past 16 years. In 1987
a friend took him to an open mic night at a piano bar. There he sang
with his device for the first time and loved the experience. For the
next eight years, he took music lessons and regularly performed at the
Gay 90’s Bar.
The first songs Snoopi learned were very complex songs by two of his
favorite performers, Christian singer Sandi Patti, and Pop Star Madonna.
The process of programming his communication device to sing is hard
work.
• For the first five years, he would practice almost
18 hours a day!
• Today, he can still spend up to ten hours programming
a single song!

Snoopi released his first album and received his first nomination in
1999. He felt he was not ready for the nomination, though, because he
was still developing his musical skills. He felt he received the nomination
simply because he was the first AAC user to release a musical album.
He is now more comfortable with his musical talent and style, and willing
to be recognized for his accomplishments and talent.
So far, Snoopi has recorded two albums:
• “Words of Love”
• “Jam.”
• He is currently in the process of developing a third
CD, yet to be titled.
• He is also preparing to release a CD of 900 song
files for people to load into their AAC devices.
He currently works at Fonix Corporation, developing even newer versions
of the DECtalk® voice software he has used for years to perform.
Snoopi loves the opportunity to show off his hard work and share his
talent with others. Singing at a yearly fundraiser for Healing of the
Hearts, a program for people with AIDS, has been the greatest opportunity
in his life. Snoopi is still developing his style and musical identity,
but is truly happy looking back over the last 16 years at all the great
memories he has created!
