Are you interested in neuroscience research? Thinking about going to grad school in the future?<\/b><\/p>

UW ENDURE is an NIH-funded program that helps prepare students from diverse backgrounds to prepare for neuroscience PhD programs. We combine intensive hands-on research with world-class mentors, a specialized curriculum focused on research basics and professional development, and peer mentorship.\u00a0<\/p>

The ENDURE summer program is a 10-week research experience that runs from June to August. Students work in a lab for the summer, learn basics of scientific communication, and get to present their work at a symposium. The summer experience is paid, and can include campus housing. This is open to current UW students and students at Puget Sound-area schools (2- or 4-year) that plan to transfer to UW. Students also receive funding to attend and present at the annual Society for Neuroscience (SfN) meeting in the fall.\u00a0<\/p>

Following the summer program, ENDURE students are funded to work in their labs throughout the academic year. We offer additional professional development and peer mentoring opportunities to students during the year.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Neuroscience is the study of the brain and, ultimately, the study of what makes us human. The field of neuroscience is focused on some of the biggest scientific questions of our time: From unraveling the mysteries of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, to engineering innovative devices to improve mobility in people with spinal cord injuries, to understanding how our brains process sensory information from the world around us. Neuroscientists use a range of tools and techniques, including cellular biology, electrophysiology, behavioral science and computational biology. Neuroscience is an exciting, rapidly evolving field. Pursuing a degree in neuroscience will prepare students for careers in research, biotech, medicine,\u00a0 and even law.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
