Phase 1 - Introduction to Neuroscience Course<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Open to current Puget Sound-area community college students, UW ENDURE offers students the opportunity to complete an introductory neuroscience course at UW. The course is offered every spring quarter, and students are able to receive UW credit. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Phase 2 - Summer Research Program<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Building on neuroscience basics, students participate in a 10 week summer research program. In addition to hands on research experience, students will spend time on professional development, preparing them to apply to graduate school and launch a career in neuroscience research. Students currently enrolled at local community colleges or incoming transfer students are eligible to apply.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Phase 3 - Academic Year Program<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For incoming transfer students, ENDURE offers a 3 quarter program for a crash course in neuroscience research. Students will complete additional courses focused on learning research basics and preparing for graduate school, while also gaining lab research experience. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\"My experience with the ENDURE program has been extremely beneficial for my academic success. I am grateful for the opportunities that it has opened for me, it has allowed me to enhance my education by engaging in hands-on research. The research I engaged in has gave me insight into what the field of neuroscience is all about. Coming from a disadvantaged background and rural town, it gave the chance to be exposed to learning so many things. I have gained many skills that will continue to be helpful for the rest of my academic career. \"In just the last 6 months I have already developed so many new skills because of the ENDURE program. Between learning how to handle rats and learning how to code, this experience has been so diverse and unique. It has allowed me to network with some great people and has opened many doors for me. Before this experience I was not sure what my next steps would be. But, with help from so many people\/mentors along the way, I have been able to find a path. Everyone is super helpful, knowledgeable, and encouraging. The program coordinators alone have been so accommodating and understanding to my situation. They even found a way to continue my funding though I had already decided on a path due to my financial situation. The ENDURE program has honestly been one of the best things I decided to be a part of. I know it sounds \u201ctoo perfect\u201d but it really is a great opportunity.
