Nineteenth-Century English Literature, the Novel, Politics, and Ruskin
Joe Butwin is currently at work on a new book, Political Showmen: Popular Democracy Before Reform. Dr. Butwin's study of the novel and Nineteenth-Century Literature has produced such publications as "The Paradox of the Clown in Dickens," in Dickens Studies Annual and "Hard Times: The News and the Novel," in Nineteenth Century Fiction.
