Daniella is found in the Costa lab working on eludicating mechanisms of neuronal-glial communication. Her work currently focuses on environmental agents, such as the organophosphate pesticide Diazinon, in their potential to impair astrocytes' ability to foster neuronal development through mechansims of oxidative stress. Her desire for a more interdisciplinary and applicable field led her to leave Chemistry for Toxicology and, ultimately, to the Tox program here at UW with a department that combines human toxicology and environmental health.
