About Quin Christensen Dr. Christensen started his research career in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Thomas at the University of Wisconsin. After receiving his B.S. in bacteriology at UW in 2005, he began graduate school at the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign. He completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in Microbiology and was a fellow of the Predoctoral Training Program at the Chemistry Biology Interface. At UIUC he conducted research in the laboratory of Dr. John Cronan, where he elucidated new enzymatic diversity in lipoic acid modification of proteins. In 2011, he joined the laboratory of Dr. Peter Greenberg at the University of Washington, where he currently resides. Dr. Christensen has been awarded a postdoctoral research fellowship from the Interdisciplinary Training Program in Bacterial Pathogenesis.

Research Dr. Christensen seeks to integrate his knowledge of metabolism with sociomicrobiology to investigate the mechanisms underlying how bacteria interact with their surroundings.
