Bio:

Dr. Dedra S. Buchwald is a general internist with additional formal training in study methods and epidemiology. She is a Professor in the University of Washington Departments of Medicine and Epidemiology.  Dr. Buchwald is the Director of the UW Center for Clinical and Epidemiological Research, the umbrella organization for the University of Washington Twin Registry and the Partnerships for Native Health, both of which she leads. Her research interests include twin studies and American Indian and Alaska Native physical and mental health. She also directs a widely recognized career development program for Native junior faculty. Today, she will focus her presentation on her work with Native communities.
