There is a growing number of childhood cancer survivors. Does the chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery lead to problems with pregnancy and/or the babies? Beth A. Mueller, DrPH, of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington, and colleagues has tried to find the answer. To do this, the researchers used cancer registries and birth records from four U.S. states to identify 1,898 infants born to women with a history of childhood cancers. This data included women who were diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20 between 1973 and 2000. Articles:
