Visiting the Department of Epidemiology

Quad in Springtime

CRITICAL TEMPORARY CHANGES TO EPIDEMIOLOGY DIRECTIONS:

Health Sciences Temporary Stop Changes:

  • See Map of changes.
  • Applies to all shuttles at Health Sciences, including the Health Sciences Express (HSE), Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCRC)/South Lake Union Shuttle (SLU) and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA)
  • Inbound, on demand stop shuttle (except SCCA/Children’s) on NE Pacific Street, north of the Hitchcock Building. You must pull the cord in advance and/or ask the driver.
  • All outbound shuttles stop at the Cascade Tower (UWMC), RR-Wing and D-Wing, which is just down the stairs and to the left (east) of Epidemiology.

Follow Directions below to/from Shuttles:

  • Follow the hall north from the Epidemiology Program Office or Conference Room to the glass door (northeast corner of block at end of F-Wing).
  • Turn right outside the door, and right down the stairs.
  • Turn left at bottom of stairs to bus shelter.

Change to Epidemiology Program Office Directions from Epidemiology Logo

  • The Epidemiology Program Office is now in F263 Health Sciences, although it used to be in F262.
  • On the 2nd floor, F-Wing at the “T” in the hall facing the Epidemiology logo, turn left and immediately right. The Epidemiology Conference Room is on the right, and the Epidemiology Program Office is the last office by the windows.
  • Do not follow the directions to F262, which say to turn right and immediately left at the logo.
  • If you do arrive at F262 (southwest corner of F-Wing), follow the inner hall across from F262 to F263, which is just opposite the other end of the hall (southeast corner of F-Wing).
  • We apologize for any inconvenience, but do not have time currently to update all the directions.

Accommodation

Our faculty, staff and students are located in many facilities around the city of Seattle. Please be aware that transportation between different sites can take time. Allow an hour between locations and pay very close attention to the bus/shuttle schedule.

  • Admitted applicants are invited to attend Visit Days which are held each year on the 1st Thursday and Friday in March. Admitted applicants read about this program and register.
  • Individual Visits : Follow the Visit Instructions carefully and allow 3 weeks of lead time, if possible.
  • Print campus map, health sciences map, and applicable maps and directions below before departing. GPS will not get you all the way to campus locations.

Shuttle buses and city buses are available, as well as taxi service at large locations. To find the location and address of faculty offices, consult the Faculty Directory on the left menu bar. Be sure to confirm at which office you should meet the faculty member. Then consult the On-Campus and Off-Campus locations, and also the transportation options listed below.

Bus and Shuttle Schedule

Shuttles are free, City Buses, Street Car & Light Rail cost about $2-5/trip. No change is provided on public transportation so carry lots of silver change and dollar bills. See Health Sciences Center Map to locate outbound stops from Health Sciences.
