Research Interests
Dr. Ballard recently retired from the Snohomish Health District in Everett, Washington as Manager of Health Statistics and Assessment. She was also a member of the Directors and Advisory Committee and Quality Improvement Council. She coordinated, organized, and evaluated the capacity and activities related to health assessment of the Health District. Provided epidemiological consultation for projects, surveys and analysis of data, and lead collaborative efforts with various sectors of the community. Published a variety of reports and a quarterly newsletter. Supervised the issuance of certified birth and death certificates. Specific interests include adverse child experiences (ACES) and their relationship to health outcomes, physical activity and nutrition, and creating aging-friendly communities.
