Research Interests
Dr. Lipsky's research interests encompass health disparities, intimate partner violence (IPV), alcohol use, mental health, and healthcare utilization. She was awarded a five-year Mentored Research Scientist Development Award by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism in 2005. Her current research under this grant examines ethnic disparities in the relationship between IPV victimization among women and perpetration among men, alcohol use, and health services utilization. These projects include analyses of the 2002 National Survey on Drug Use and Health and a data linkage project using police-reported IPV incident records from a major metropolitan city in the Southern U.S. and regional hospital discharge records. Other research is focused on IPV, co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders, and substance abuse treatment outcomes in Washington State.
