Research Interests
My work involves the development and testing of distance-based epidemiologic training materials and innovative delivery systems. I am currently focused on a series of computer-based case studies designed to teach public health practitioners and MPH students skills in outbreak investigation and surveillance. The case studies, based on real-life public health problems, require students to apply and practice their epidemiologic and public health knowledge and skills and have been described in Academic Exchange Quarterly and Learning Circuits. I am also involved in the development of epidemiologic training materials for unusual audiences (e.g., journalists, laboratorians, high school students).
