My work involves the development and testing of distance-based public health training materials and innovative delivery systems. I have developed both classroom and computer-based case studies on real-life public health problems that require students to apply and practice their epidemiologic and public health knowledge and skills. These case studies are available at http://www.cdc.gov/epicasestudies/. I am also involved in the development of public health training materials for unusual audiences (e.g., journalists, laboratorians, high school students). I am currently focused on developing face-to-face team training on foodborne disease outbreak investigation for state and local public health professionals and "One Health" surveillance with the National Park Service.
