I enjoy teaching epidemiologic methods to professionals in other cultures, who often have educational backgrounds very different from ourselves in the US. In addition to introducing them to concepts and tools for which they recognize a strong need, this effort affords me the privilege of working with some of the smartest and most capable people I have met. Present efforts are focused on Viet Nam, a country undergoing dramatic change and with a culture that has fascinated me for many years.
