This is a regular, hourly, 8 hour, day shift position, 40 hours per week.

Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience. The salary scale is reviewed on an annual basis for market comparison and may change with the market.

Responsibilities:

• Abstracts newly diagnosed cancer cases, assist with case identification, and perform quality control procedures on data.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate and some college level curriculum in cancer data management or equivalent experience working in a cancer registry.
  Certified Tumor Registrar, (CTR) Required.
• Two years' experience abstracting newly diagnosed cancer cases.
• Experience working in an ACoS approved Cancer Registry preferred.
• Experience working with computerized registry system preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel highly recommended.
• Basic cancer-related medical terminology, anatomy and physiology knowledge.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Working knowledge of the ACoS requirements and the data standards.
• Able to maintain the production standard of 1.1 hrs per abstract.
