Job# 6643 - Epidemiologic Research Analyst – National Cancer Institute (Rockville, Maryland)
Full Time
Posted: April 25, 2013
Closes: May 25, 2013

Job Description:

Seeking individual with either a master’s degree in epidemiology (or related field) or comparable experience to join an intramural component of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) whose mission is to identify causes of reproductive and hormonally-related cancers through the conduct of national and international investigations. For further details about our program of research please see http://dceg.cancer.gov/hreb. This position involves assisting multiple investigators on all aspects of epidemiologic research, including study design (developing protocols, questionnaires, specimen handling procedures), management (data coding and cleaning, specimen tracking, human subjects’ approvals), analysis (statistical analysis and laboratory assays), and preparation of reports for presentation or publication. Because most studies include biologic specimens, training in a biologically-related field or experience working with laboratory samples will be considered a major asset. Experience with IT applications used in public health research is a must; please indicate relevant skills and competencies. Job requires organizational abilities, attention to detail, initiative and an aptitude for multi-tasking. The NCI is an exciting place to work and the position provides excellent learning opportunities and possibilities for professional advancement. This is a contract position at a government agency in Rockville, Maryland. Please send resume and cover letter addressing your qualifications for the position to brinton@nih.gov. I will also be attending the SER meeting and would be happy to meet with interested individuals.
