Matt Anderson, Fiscal Specialist, Matt Anderson joined the Department four year ago, bringing wit him 15 years of experience at the UW. He is described as "frequently going far above and beyond his duties to take on any task asked of him. His exceptional qualities an sense of humor make him a pleasure to work with."

Barb Byrne Simon, Administrator in Epidemiology since 2001, is an accomplished manager whose leadership has had a positive and stabilizing impact on her Department. She is an effective supervisor and serves as an important resource for faculty, staff, and students.

2002

Kevin Schuda has served as Manager of the Institute for Public Health Genetics in Epidemiology since its inception. He is an effective administrator who has established collegial relationships with staff in the 11 academic units at the UW and other institutions involved in the program.

2001

Angie Marie Buck, Assistant to the Chair of the Department of Epidemiology provides administrative and program support for a wide range of activities. She plays an is valued for her knowledge, energy, and dedication. Her nominator described Buck as a model of the type of person the Staff Award is intended to recognize.

2000

William O’Brien, Department of Epidemiology, serves as manager and gatekeeper for the vital records and hospital discharge data from the State of Washington that are used for a wide range of studies, papers, and research projects. His nominator said, “Bill plays a key role in the education of many students and assists numerous faculty in their research projects.”
