For your paper you will write about your topic, the question or problem you will address in the longer paper, and about the articles you have found so far to support this topic.

Please use the following formula to write these papers:

Paragraph #1:

Introduce the general topic and work your way toward your own subtopic. Finally, write a sentence which poses a question or problem for the reader which you will investigate. Leave out references to yourself.

Paragraph #2:

Introduce/summarize both sides of the problem/question posed in paragraph 1. There should be 2 compelling sides to your issue. Present both sides in an unbiased voice, leaving out your own opinion at this point.

Paragraph #3:

Present the articles you have found on this topic. Introduce each one with the title, author, and argument, as we did in the precis. you don't need to follow the rest of the precis formula, but rather, summarize the important information that you found in this article.

Last Paragraph:

Make a conclusion to your paper. Restate the question, the fact that there are two compelling sides, and finally, your opinion about which side is stronger or more convincing.
